I love the phone…when I don’t have to use it. I made a 911 call at the scene of an accident where someone was injured and it shut down in the middle of the conversation. It shut down another time during an important conversation with a customer service rep (you know those calls- where you have to wait 10 minutes before someone comes on) so I had to call back. It will shut down in the middle of typing a text. The best reason I’ve come up with is that I am faster than the phone. Meaning if I flip open the phone and start typing away, it tends to shut down because it needs a minute to realize I need it to do something. Like today, I had to retype a text 3 times in a row for this reason. Aggravating. This has never happened with any other phone I have owned. Also, I agree the battery life is not as great as my phones have been in the past. If I power it up completely then go into a multi-hour concert or day trip, I have to be frugal with my usage because it will reach a low battery level before you know it. I’ve had Nokia phones since 2000 and this one is a big disappointment.

This phone cost me much more than my last Nokia which I had for a few years and was always dependable. I’ve had nothing but trouble with this piece of crap. Always loses the signal and has to be charged in the least of twice a day and that is when it is on standby with no calls. I kid you not. I can charge up the phone and leave the house 4 hours later without using it the phone has already lost power by 4 hours after that it is going dead. AT&T should be ashamed of selling this garbage to it’s customers

I have had the same problems and know several others whose phone have also turned off on their own several times a week. Yesterday, mine turned off for good. It will not come back on. I do not recommend this phone. Seriously.

I agree with all the previous reviews. I’ve owned nothing but Nokias for years because they have always been so reliable. Unfortunately, this phone is not.
1. It turns off randomly.
2. Both the interior and exterior displays don’t work properly.
3. It gets terrible service and drops calls constantly.
4. The light turns off every few seconds and the time cannot be changed.
5. It’s constantly unable to read the smart chip.
6. It’s just a few months old and is unusable already. Currently it will not turn on, and on the off chance it will (about once every 20 tries), the screen is black, it will not respond to buttons unless it’s the wrong response (example, the end buttons makes is vibrate and the talk button turns on the camera – which doesn’t work -, and the numbers make the screen display flip upside down).

Works very well for me… never had the dropped call problem or anything similar to what everyone else is ranting about here. Maybe I’m lucky? Phone is long and slim, and I’ve kept it in my pants’ pocket since I got it and have no problems… almost two years now (will be in Oct. ‘09). Scuffing and scratching on the casing, but that’s to be expected. My g/f has the same phone and the exterior screen cracked recently in her purse, possibly against keys or such. Phone still works fine for her, though. I’d recommend this phone and if you experience any of these problems, get it returned. If you want a phone for talking (i get great battery out of this… hours of talk time in horrible locations) and simple, infrequent texting, this is the one for you.
