  1. i did a lot of research b4 i bought this cell phone, because a lot of ppl said this cell phone suks. and gave it a really low rate. no offence, but whoever gave this cell phone a 3 stars or lower has a problem or they are just not that lucky.

first some ppl said this phone cannot be used in buildings and home, so wrong, i got signals anywhere include my home.

sencond. the keypad is not that small, unless u have huge fingers, for me, it is really easy to use.

three, ppl are discussing about wheather this phone has key lock. some ppl said no. and those ppl go to hell. because it do have keplock system. simply press – and *.

four u don’t really need a cam phone, because usually the quarlity of camera is not good anyway. so u can just use ur freinds cam phone and use bluetooth. so i got bunch of pic of me and my freinds in my L2 now.

five i saw one review said other ppl cannot hear the voice very clearly, he said his Gf’ L2’s mic is on the top. Oh well, then i guess i have differnt L2, coz mine is located at the bottom . (unless his GF has a big face and cover up the mic.)

that is all i can say

    buy it or regrat it

  2. I have not owned this phone, but have had the L6 (unlocked for ~ $130) for about 7 monhts now. that phone is the L2 plus the camera (or the SLVR minus the memory card slot). Been very very happy with it and everything, including the bluetooth works like a charm.

I am guessing this is not too different, which is why I gave it 5 stars.

  3. i haven’t had the phone for a long time but i think it’s a solid phone.

yes, it doesn’t have a camera but there are some who don’t want or need one. the network seems to be confusing people and this phone is a quad-band phone. it says on the box and on the phone itself.

i haven’t had any major problems with it and it seemed inconvenient on motorola’s part to not set individual ringers with you have the numbers on SIM but it’s just something minor. otherwise, there are a number of positives with this phone… and it’s not just about looks.

  4. Pros:

    looks “cool”

    small footprint

    Cons:

Cheaply made and put together – it feels rather flimsy

    Menus are not intuitive

    Battery indicator is highly inaccurate

EVERY time I receive a message, every piece of electronics in the room buzzes.

I dropped the phone ONCE and the screen shattered. It’s supposed to be a phone, not an egg.

The phone should come with the MPT software, not including it is a cheapskate move on the part of the manufacturer.

  5. This is the phone I am retiring now after about 20 months of use. So I guess I am not allowed to badmouth it too much :)

I actually liked this phone. Following is a brief review based on my experience:

The best thing about this phone is it looks. It is really lightweight and very sleek. Friends around me were fascinated when I first got this thing. Next, it is what it is: phone. I am not the person who likes a lot of bells and whistles on the phone. Most of the phones around have horrible mp3 playback, awful camera/video capture capability which makes them bulky and heavy. If you are looking for those things, stop looking at cheap phones and go get yourself a blackberry or treo or whatever. This one has skirted everything, and I like that.

The signal strength is very good. Much improved than my earlier Motorola V551. The sound quality however was average. Not something to complain about in general, but you would have difficulty hearing if you are in a noisy environment. The speakers are also not loud enough.

The bluetooth works great. Never had any problems with the handsfree. The battery life was also good. I had a little problem for about a week a few months back, which resolved itself. The battery was dying down every day for those few days. But for the most part, I used to charge it every other day. I would say, I talk about 60mins per day on an average.

The keypad is average. A bit on the small side, but the feel of the keys make it easier. So not much to complain there.

The phone is very light and sleek. This also means that it can easily slip from your hands when you are holding it and talking. So if you think you are a bit clumsy, brace yourself for some drops.

I got this one as a free phone about two years back. It was good then. But I think there are a lot of better options for the same price in the market now. Not saying that this phone is bad by any means, but I think you can do better for the price (1 cent with contract at the time of review posting).
