Don’t buy this phone. It’s a piece of garbage. Within the first week, the first phone we received kept powering down unexpectedly. The replacement phone doesn’t work either. The speaker had no sound from the start, and within 3 days the screen went white and the phone is completely useless. Two phones and neither work. We HOPE that at some point Amazon will recognize that they sold us a piece of garbage and will trade in the phone for a different model. So far no luck. Not happy with Amazon right now!!!

I have had the Motorola Rival for 5 months and i have been through 4 already. Verizon will replace them on warranty so my problem is not with Verizon, i have had no problems with them, only this phone. On 3 of my phones the screen went blank and image would not return in any way, it has gone white on my last two and black on the second one. The first phone would not send or receive text messages from any other carrier, i was told by Verizon technicians that it was the phone, not the network. I cannot stress it enough, DO NOT BUY THIS CELL PHONE!!!

Pros: QWERTY keyboard, good speakerphone
Cons: NOBODY can understand me unless I use speakerphone. Touchscreen way too sensitive: end up hitting buttons just while holding the phone during every conversation, often putting the phone on mute by mistake.
I can’t talk without either putting someone on mute when on speakerphone or my speech being garbled on the regular phone. Either way, the person on the other end can’t hear me. Useless as a phone! Can’t wait to get rid of it!

I purchased 3 phones 5 months ago. 1st one lasted 1 month and the slide screws came out so the phone was replaced and the replacement died in a week (no display). They replaced that one and so far it has lasted 3 weeks with no problems.
The 2nd one lasted 4 months and the slide screws came out. I got a replacement and in less than a week the slide screws came out. getting another replacement.
3rd has not had that issue but if you close the slide too fast it will shut the phone off.
These are not a good durable phone for everyday use.

This is my first qwerty phone, and I am very happy with it. As I know of the other phones available, I knew what I wanted and what I didn’t want. I did not want anything too big. This is the perfect size for me, plus the keyboard is bigger than some as you turn it sideways to slide it open. I have read many reviews and wanted to write one as I’m happy with the design (which is cute and purple=), and the performance of this phone, but a customer should know what it is that they like and don’t like. I did not want a touch screen either, and this one has a few features on the touch screen that work great so I have no complaints. The sound is excellent, it has a lot of great features (I’ve got a signature on my outgoing texts, and a different ringtone for some of my contacts – although they could each have their own!); the alarm works great and I use my notepad and calculator constantly. I’ve had it for almost two months with no problems.
Generally speaking, the manufacturers of these products should keep in mind that most people, including teens, keep their phones in their pockets; and too, drop them – so durability is a desired quality as well.
