The pearl is one of the, if not the worst, cell phones I have owned in 10 years.

Within the first few months:
-the trackball was working inconsistently
-the red call-end/power button functioned only half the time
-the headphone jack stopped working consistently. It takes 10 seconds for the phone to recognize that a headset is plugged it, which sucks when you're in the middle of a call. Sometimes it doesn't work at all.

What a P.O.S!

The only pro about this phone is that the calendar and contacts sync with my Mac OS.

To add insult to injury, T Mobile customer service sucks 8@!!5. They only get good reviews because they sound cheerful on the phone and act like they care. God forbid you experience a real problem--half of them don't know their a55 from their elbow. Tech support takes hours. Literlly! And tech support rarely helps (because of the a55/elbow thing).

I thought I hated Cingular/AT&T customer service until I switched to T Mobile. At least at Cingular they don't put on a compassionate facade then dispense crappy service, they just cut straight to the crappy service.

I had my first blackberry pearl 8100 for 2 years before my bird got ahold of it and destroyed the keyboard (i bought a new one online and installed myself, but the trackball kept falling out because once the ring pops out you can never get it to stay in again).... aside from all that, i think most phones are designed only to last 1 year so that you have to keep resigning a contract for a new one- so therefore given that this lasted 2 years it's a great phone-

My FAVORITE feature: i love that i can see my next two appointments on the screen without having to go into my calendar.

Least favorite feature: it can be difficult to navigate (it took me a long time to figure out how to change the ringtone) and it takes a lot of getting used to- you may not like it at first but after awhile you'll discover why it's referred to as the "crackberry".... i can't give mine up- not even for a touchscreen phone

Oh and to the person who hates t-mobile- i've been with them since they were Voicestream and have never ever had a problem with customer service- which is a lot more than i can say for verizon (the WORST company EVER!)... and i only pay $60 a month for unlimited minutes.

Great Product ! This was the first blackberry device that I owned. I was very happy with it. Now, it's almost 2.5 years since I bought this. I am planning to upgrade to a new phone, but unable to find such a sleek phone (with all the features).
